CalChamber Issues Statement on Status of State Water Project

(Dec. 19, 2025) Sacramento, CA - The California Chamber of Commerce today released the following statement in response to the state Department of Fish & Wildlife issuing an amendment to the incidental take permit (ITP) for the operation of the State Water Project (SWP):

"CalChamber applauds state officials for their efforts to ensure a reasonable and thoughtful balance of economic and environmental needs in ensuring the long-term success of the State Water Project.

"Water supply reliability plays an essential role in supporting businesses, families, and communities across the state. The ITP amendment will allow California to better implement adaptive, science-based decision making that maximizes water delivery when conditions permit, while still protecting species."
