In the aftermath of the powerful Typhoon Ragasa, which brought heavy rainfall, the dammed lake at Mataian Creek in Hualien's Guangfu Township overflowed. This resulted in significant flooding, power outages, road collapses, and damage to homes in various areas. Local infrastructure has suffered extensive damage, and the lives of the disaster-affected individuals are facing tremendous challenges, making the reconstruction efforts arduous. Daniel M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Group, and Fubon FHC, announced a joint donation of NT$20 million and activated all subsidiaries to provide comprehensive support for disaster relief, resettlement for the disaster-affected individuals and future social reconstruction efforts.
Daniel M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Group, stated that post-disaster reconstruction is a long and arduous journey. It requires not only immediate assistance but also ongoing resource investment and supportive care. Personally, he will donate NT$10 million through the 'Rushi Social Welfare Public Trust Fund' to the Tzu Chi Foundation, Taiwan World Vision, and various units such as the Hualien County Police Department and Fire Department to aid in the reconstruction efforts. The group's subsidiary, Fubon Construction, also mobilized quickly to gather hundreds of disaster relief tools, including shovels, buckets, and rice bags, to support frontline volunteers and disaster-affected individuals. Fubon Group will continue to actively assist in various post-disaster reconstruction efforts and hopes to rally all sectors of society to work together to help the disaster-affected individuals restore their homes as soon as possible.
Richard M. Tsai, Chairman of Fubon Financial Holdings, has also expressed that in the face of sudden natural disasters, which have caused significant loss of life and property, we feel deep sorrow and pain. We extend our sincere concern to the disaster-affected individuals and their families. Fubon Financial Holdings will donate NT$10 million to support organizations such as the Chiayi Charitable Organization, Mennonite Social Welfare Foundation, The Mustard Seed Mission, and the Chinese Christian Relief Association, which are assisting with immediate relief efforts and engaging in long-term reconstruction work in the disaster-stricken areas. Fubon Financial Holdings and its subsidiaries will work together to support the affected regions, standing alongside the people, with the hope of rebuilding homes as soon as possible.

This includes NT$100,000 for death, NT$50,000 for intensive care and NT$10,000 for regular hospitalization to support policyholders in overcoming difficulties and restoring their homes. In addition, emergency response measures were immediately activated. For renewal premiums due between August and December 2015, affected policyholders were granted a six-month payment extension. Interest on policy loans may also be deferred for six months. In the unfortunate event that a policyholder is injured and needs to file a claim, Fubon Life prioritizes the convenience of the policyholder. We strive to provide immediate services to affected policyholders as quickly as possible. Affected policyholders can submit their claims via fax or through the mobile claims online application with the assistance of our staff, and any additional required documents can be submitted later. If a policyholder is hospitalized due to an accident at a cooperating medical institution, Fubon Life can also settle the medical expenses on their behalf using the compensation funds.
Taipei Fubon Bank has proactively reached out to customers in Hualien's Guangfu Township while introducing multiple relief measures to assist disaster-affected individuals in overcoming hardships. For mortgage and consumer loan customers residing within government-designated disaster zones or presenting official disaster damage documentation, the bank offers principal deferment plans for existing loans to alleviate financial burdens. In addition, there is a reconstruction loan program available for our customers who can provide proof of disaster impact. This initiative aims to assist in rebuilding homes. Those in need may inquire at their nearest branch for assistance. Furthermore, no interbank transfer fees will be charged for donations made through Financial Information Service Co., Ltd. to the Disaster Relief Foundation account at Land Bank's Changchun Branch. We hope to uphold the spirit of social care and join hands with all sectors to assist disaster-affected individuals in rebuilding their homes.
Fubon Insurance has immediately activated its emergency response team to closely monitor disaster conditions and policyholder losses. We are proactively reaching out to provide timely assistance and claims guidance, while simultaneously initiating our expedited claims process to help affected policyholders resume normal life as soon as possible. Fubon Insurance also reminds the public that if your vehicle is submerged in water exceeding the underbody panel height, never turn on the main power switch or start the engine. This prevents electrical short circuits or engine component damage. Keep the vehicle as-is and immediately contact a repair shop to arrange for towing back to the facility for inspection and repair. If flooding occurs inside your residence, we recommend taking photographs as evidence first and then filing a claim later. Fubon Insurance policyholders may report claims and check claim instructions and required documents via the "Bao Hao Kang Member Platform." Claims can also be submitted through multiple channels, including in-person at our counters or via your assigned agent. Fubon will handle matters according to the principles of "priority, promptness, and flexibility." For inquiries, please call our customer service hotline at 0800-009-888.
