Washington - U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), today applauded the Senate's passage of the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, landmark legislation that will help lower housing costs, increase housing supply, and make the dream of homeownership attainable for more American families.
The legislation passed the Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support and now heads to the House of Representatives.
"After four years of failed housing policies under the Biden Administration, homeownership became increasingly out of reach for working families and first-time buyers. Housing costs soared while excessive regulations made it harder and more expensive to build new homes. I've heard from builders across Kansas that government red tape is one of the biggest drivers of housing costs," said Senator Marshall. "The ROAD to Housing Act takes a different approach by cutting unnecessary regulations, supporting community banks, limiting large Wall Street investors in the housing market, and helping restore the American Dream of homeownership for the next generation of families."
