Stevenson University Names Jordan Hoover New Director of Athletics

Hoover to Oversee Mustang Athletics' 29 Varsity Sports and 11 Club Programs

Stevenson University has named Jordan Hoover as its new Director of Athletics. Hoover, who has served as Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations at Catholic University of America since 2023, brings 11 years of experience and a record of success in collegiate sports operations and administration. In his new role, he will oversee Stevenson's 29 varsity men's and women's athletic programs as well as 11 club sports programs and intramurals.

"I want to thank President Hirshman, Vice President Jim Mustard, and the entire search committee for the tremendous honor to serve as the next Director of Athletics at Stevenson University," Hoover said. "I am very excited and proud to join the Mustangs. Stevenson offers a superb Division III experience with its strong commitment to student-athlete excellence athletically and academically, and its outstanding facilities for training and competition. I look forward to working alongside our student-athletes, coaches, and staff to continue to elevate the Mustang athletic tradition as well as getting to know the alumni, fans, and families who help support the success of our teams."

Hoover joined the Catholic University Athletic Department in 2019 and was promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations in 2023, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the athletic department, including budget management and financial planning, departmental and athletic events, and the management of the DuFour Athletic Complex facilities. While at Catholic University, he also oversaw capital project construction, including the renovation of the university's baseball and softball fields and upgrades to Franny Murray Court and the Dufour Athletic Center. Additionally, Hoover managed the department's strategic external partnerships and led all revenue generation opportunities for Catholic University's Athletic Department.

In addition, Hoover served as the sports administrator for Catholic University's men's lacrosse, men's and women's swimming and diving, women's soccer, and softball programs, with additional oversight of the varsity equipment and weight rooms. Prior to his time at Catholic University, Hoover served for five years as the Director of Athletic Facilities at Johns Hopkins University, where he oversaw the day-to-day operations of indoor and outdoor athletic facilities as well as departmental scheduling, purchasing, and the management of all facilities. In addition to his primary operational oversight, Hoover led numerous capital projects in his time at Johns Hopkins and oversaw game operations for the Blue Jays football and volleyball programs and the Division I men and women's lacrosse programs. Prior to his role at Johns Hopkins, he served two years as the Athletic Facilities Coordinator at McDaniel College.

Hoover is a graduate of McDaniel College, where he was a member of the football team. He received his master's in Sports Management and Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University in 2015. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) and was elected to join the association's Executive Leadership Team in 2025.

"I know our entire university community joins me in warmly welcoming Jordan to Stevenson and wishing him all the best as he assumes leadership of Mustang Athletics," said Elliot Hirshman, Ph.D., President of Stevenson University.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jordan to Stevenson and to the proud Mustang Athletics community," said Jim Mustard, CEFP, Vice President for Facilities and Administration, who oversees athletics. "Jordan's extensive and varied experience in university athletics will be an asset to the university. He will help us continue to make Stevenson a great place for student-athletes to develop their strengths and talents athletically, academically, and professionally through our career development focus."
