Beth Reinhard Joins Politics

We're thrilled to announce that Beth Reinhard, whose groundbreaking reporting has separated her from the pack in Washington and Florida, is joining the Politics desk. Beth will bring to the team her extraordinary chops and infectious appetite for digging and delivering scoops as an investigative correspondent.

Beth most recently spent eight and a half years as an investigative reporter at The Washington Post, writing accountability-driven stories that were both quick-turn and deeply reported.

Shortly after joining The Post, Beth joined a colleague in Alabama to chase a tip that the Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore had pursued and molested teenaged girls decades earlier. After they published on-the-record accounts from several women who accused Moore of sexual misconduct, Beth was approached by another purported victim - whom she helped expose as a Project Veritas operative. Their stories won the Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting, the George Polk Award and Toner Prize. In addition, Mr. Moore lost the race in a state that had not elected a Democratic senator in a quarter century.

In 2021, Beth detailed allegations of sexual misconduct against Representative Tom Reed of New York, prompting him to drop his reelection plans and a potential gubernatorial bid. That same year, she contributed to The Post's Pulitzer Prize-winning package examining the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. More recently, Beth spearheaded an eight-part series examining the mounting political power of the billionaire class.

"Beth is a relentless reporter who delivers must-read stories," said Supreme Court editor Roz Helderman. "She's also a warm and generous colleague who serves as a great sounding board for reporting partners and others who just need to talk through an assignment."

Beth previously covered politics at the The Wall Street Journal, National Journal and The Miami Herald, where she scooped news, helped cover the momentous presidential recount of 2000 and wrote a weekly political column in what was then the nation's biggest swing state.

Beth received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, Beth lives in the Washington, D.C. area with her family.
