NATCA Members Give Members of Congress Tours of Detroit ATCT and Detroit TRACON

U.S. Representatives Shri Thanedar (Mich.-13), Lou Correa (Calif.-46), and Bennie Thompson (Miss.-2) recently toured Detroit ATCT (DET) and Detroit TRACON (D21) with NATCA members Ken Bazman (D21) and Matt Reavis (D21) in July 2026. The three members of Congress got a firsthand look at both the radar room at D21 and tower operations at DET. During the tours, they discussed mandatory overtime, training backlogs, controller fatigue, and the need to modernize equipment across the National Airspace System (NAS). NATCA thanks Reps. Thanedar, Correa, and Thompson for taking time out of their day to learn more about the operations at DET and D21.
