LANSING, Mich. - Community members and veterans are encouraged to join Michigan Veteran Homes at Chesterfield Township (MVHCT) for its 5th Annual Heroic Walk, Run & Roll 5K and 0.5-Mile Walk on Saturday, June 6, on the campus of the Home located at 47901 Sugarbush Rd. in Chesterfield Township. The 0.5-Mile Walk will begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by the 5K at 9:45 a.m.
The annual event brings together veteran members, staff, volunteers and community supporters for a morning of camaraderie, fitness and fellowship while honoring the service and sacrifice of Michigan's veterans. During the event, staff and volunteers will assist veteran members by pushing wheelchairs during the 0.5-mile walk, while others will accompany veterans in specialized "chariots" during the 5K race. A silent auction will also be held on-site. Photos from last year's event are available on the Home's Facebook page.
