City offices to be closed for Veterans Day

KILLEEN, Texas (Nov. 5, 2025) - City of Killeen offices will be closed Tuesday, November 11 to observe Veterans Day.
Libraries, the Lions Park Senior Center, Solid Waste Administration Building, and the Recycling Center will be closed. The Family Recreation Center will be open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Residential and commercial trash collection routes will run as normal. The transfer station will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Emergency services will run unaltered.

City offices will reopen Wednesday, November 12, for normal business hours.
Several downtown streets will be blocked on Tuesday for the annual Central Texas Community Veterans Day Parade.

The parade route starts at West Avenue D, next to City Hall, and travels from College Street down Avenue D to 8^th Street, then 8^th Street to Sprott Avenue and Sprott Avenue to Gray Street. It returns down Gray Street to Avenue C, finishing at College Street.

The parade route will be blocked to traffic starting at 9 a.m. Additionally, 761st Tank Battalion Avenue from Gilmer to College Street and Gilmer Street from Veterans Memorial to 761st Tank Battalion, will both be blocked to non-parade traffic on Tuesday.
