Update on Construction Projects in Lake Tahoe

Placer/El Dorado Counties - Caltrans is advising motorists of the continuation of several construction projects within the Lake Tahoe Basin next week.

Along State Route 28 (SR 28), construction on a $31.7 million pavement rehabilitation project continues. The contractor for this project is Mercer Fraser Company of Eureka.

• Drainage work between Lake Forest Road (east) and Old Mill Road, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, September 28 through Thursday, October 1.
• Drainage work between Terrace Drive and Jeffrey Way, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, September 28 through Thursday, October 1.

Along State Route 89 (SR 89), construction on a $20.8 million pavement rehabilitation project continues with striping operations scheduled with one-way traffic control in effect at various locations between the Interstate 80 junction in Truckee and Alpine Meadows Road [JL1]from 7 p.m. Sunday, September 27 until 7 a.m. Friday, October 2. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The contractor for this project is Teichert Construction.

A broadband project on SR 89 along the West Shore is part of a larger statewide effort by the California Department of Technology to bring high-speed internet into rural communities. The contractor for this project is also Teichert Construction.

Broadband work is scheduled along SR 89 in Placer County between the El Dorado County line and St. Michael Court with one-way traffic control in effect from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, September 27 through Thursday, October 1. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 7 a.m. Friday, October 2.

Broadband work is scheduled along SR 89 in El Dorado County during the following dates and times:

• Between Mt. Tallac Road/Baldwin Beach Road and D.L. Bliss State Park, one-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, September 27 through Thursday, October 1. Work is scheduled to end for the week Friday, October 2 at 7 a.m.
• Between Mountain Drive and the Placer County line, one-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, September 27 through Thursday, October 1. Work is scheduled to end for the week Friday, October 2 at 10 a.m.
• Between Mt. Tallac Road/Baldwin Beach Road and the Placer County line, one-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, September 28 through Thursday, October 1. Work is also scheduled Friday, October 2 from 7 a.m. to noon.
• Between Cascade Creek and West Way, one-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, September 28 through Thursday, October 1. Work is also scheduled Friday, October 2 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m[JO2]. In addition, work is scheduled to resume at 9 p.m. each night Monday, September 28 through Wednesday, September 30.

Additional broadband electrical work is scheduled along U.S. Highway 50 (US 50) between the SR 89 junction in Meyers and F Street in South Lake Tahoe. One-way traffic control is scheduled in various locations from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, September 27 through Thursday, October 1. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, October 2.

Installation work for a flashing beacon pedestrian crosswalk is scheduled at US 50 and Apache Avenue from 5 a.m. to noon Monday, September 28 through Friday, October 2.

Motorists could encounter delays of up to 20 minutes at each location. All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends. Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment and material availability, or other unexpected events.
