HARRISBURG - The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Rodney McMillian, age 44, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on October 1, 2026, to 188 months' imprisonment by United States District Judge Keli M. Neary for distribution of fentanyl pills and firearms trafficking.
According to United States Attorney Brian D. Miller, McMillian was sentenced for his role in the drug trafficking and firearms trafficking conspiracy that was the subject of an undercover investigation conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. During the course of the investigation, undercover officers purchased over three kilograms of methamphetamine, 1,600 fentanyl pills and seven firearms from the conspirators. McMillian was the source of the firearms and the fentanyl pills.
At sentencing, Judge Neary found that McMillian's long criminal history of violence, drug trafficking, and firearms offenses warrant imprisonment of 188 months in prison. The Judged noted that previous periods of incarceration had not deterred McMillian from returning to commit crimes. McMillian had previously entered a guilty plea to fentanyl trafficking. His trafficking of firearms was considered part of the Judge's sentencing.
Co-defendants Devonte Betts, Lamar Waters, and Tyrese Nealy entered guilty pleas to drug trafficking offenses. They are scheduled for sentencing in the coming months.

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is the Department of Justice's nationwide initiative that brings federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement, prosecutors, and other public safety partners together to coordinate efforts to combat violent crime and make communities safe. Coordinated by U.S. Attorneys' offices in each of the 94 federal districts, PSN is tailored to particular communities to strategically address specific violent crime and public safety challenges. As a key component of Operation Take Back America, PSN serves a central role in the Department's commitment to make our country safe. PSN emphasizes three core principles: rapid federal response to violent crime and criminal offenders; strong, strategic partnerships among law enforcement at all levels; and accountability and deterrence through the prosecution of the most serious, readily provable offenses and other strategies. These efforts complement and strengthen President Trump's Homeland Security Task Forces, ensuring a comprehensive federal response to the most pressing public safety issues facing communities.
