CANYON, Texas - Modern songs of faith and love are on the program when the West Texas A&M University choirs offer their fall concert.

The performance is set for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 in Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall. Admission is free. The concert will be livestreamed at vimeo.com/wtschoolofmusic.

"The fall concert will feature music mostly written in the 20th and 21st centuries and will include a variety of styles, from folk to classical," said Dr. Sean Pullen, professor of music and director of choral activities. "The concert program is designed to show off the groups' advanced musicianship and will not fail to inspire the audience."

Among the works on the program are "Missa Simplex" by Rihards Dubra, "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho," "Norwegian Alleluia" by Kim André Arnesen, "Sweet By and By," "See the Chariot at Hand" by Ralph Vaughan Willams and more.

Jason Coon, a graduate student in music from Irving, and Draik Hickok, a graduate student in music from Alvin, each will guest conduct during the concert.

For information about the concert, call 806-651-2840.
