TheatreUNI and Crooked Path Classics present William Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” at the brand-new Northern Iowa Shakespeare Festival

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - This summer, TheatreUNI and Crooked Path Classics are teaming up to launch the Northern Iowa Shakespeare Festival. This festival includes a training program called the UNI Summer Shakespeare Intensive, and a fully-staged production of a Shakespeare play featuring TheatreUNI professors, alumni and students, as well as other Cedar Valley and Corridor-based actors.

‌The festival's inaugural production will be William Shakespeare's "As You Like It."

Public performances will be held June 11-13 and June 18-20 at 7:30 p.m., with matinee performances June 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. The June 18 performance will feature TheatreUNI student understudies in principal roles. All performances will take place in the Bertha Martin Theatre in the Strayer-Wood Theatre building on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

The production is directed by Crooked Path co-founder and co-artistic director Patrick Du Laney. Scenic and lighting design by TheatreUNI alum Scott Olinger, costume design by TheatreUNI guest designer Emily Ganfield, and stage management by 2026 TheatreUNI graduate Eric Chen. The cast includes TheatreUNI Assistant Professor Katy Hahn as Rosalind, and Associate Professor Matthew Weedman as Jaques, along with TheatreUNI alumni Braden JP Rood, Ethan Glenn and Allie Klinsky.

Tickets are $24 for adults and $14 for students and can be purchased through UNITix or at the door.
