Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia with Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe

On February 3, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe Michael O'Flaherty.

The interlocutors touched upon the cooperation on priority areas within the framework of the Council of Europe, including the continued strengthening of the rule of law and the protection of human rights. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the Republic of Armenia's unwavering commitment to implementation of the ambitious democratic reform agenda, as well as concrete steps being undertaken in this direction. The programs aimed at addressing the needs of refugees displaced from Karabakh were also touched upon.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Michael O'Flaherty exchanged views on regional issues. Efforts aimed at the continued strengthening of the established peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, including humanitarian issues were touched upon.
