"When an Iowan picks up the phone or writes to their representative, they deserve to know a real person is listening and working to get them an answer," said Rep. Nunn . "Whether it's a veteran trying to access VA benefits they've earned, a senior waiting on their Social Security check, or a family wanting their voice heard on an issue before Congress, serving Iowans is the job. I'm honored by this recognition, but the greatest reward is hearing from an Iowan who finally got an answer or solved a problem with our office's help."
This recognition comes as Rep. Nunn's office continues to set a high standard for constituent engagement. Since the beginning of the year, the office has responded to nearly 342,000 letters, emails, phone calls, and other constituent inquiries - an increase of 32 percent over the same period last year and a 56 percent increase compared to 2023.
The Congressional Management Foundation's Democracy Awards are its signature program to recognize excellence in the day-to-day operations of congressional offices, highlighting outstanding constituent service and office management rather than legislative accomplishments. Winners are selected by an independent panel of judges from more than 150 applications submitted by congressional offices across the country.
