Chinese Ambassador to Iceland He Rulong Visits the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue

On March 19, Ambassador He Rulong visited the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (Landsbjörg) and met with its Chairman Borghildur Fjóla Kristjánsdóttir, accompanied by Counselor Yang Jing and Counselor Dai Ke from the Embassy.

Ambassador He expressed appreciation for Landsbjörg's longstanding efforts in safeguarding the safety of Chinese citizens in Iceland. He noted that the number of Chinese tourists visiting Iceland has continued to grow rapidly in recent years, and the Embassy stands ready to further strengthen coordination with Landsbjörg in areas such as early warning and emergency response, in order to ensure the safety of Chinese tourists in Iceland.

Ms. Kristjánsdóttir thanked the Embassy for donating the entire ticket proceedings from its "Happy Chinese New Year" events to Landsbjörg for two consecutive years. She expressed Landsbjörg's willingness to further deepening cooperation with the Embassy and to making contingency plans for enhancing the travel safety of the Chinese tourists.

During the visit, the Landsbjörg team introduced its history, emergency response system, and volunteer network, etc. Ms. Kristjánsdóttir accompanied Ambassador He on a tour of Landsbjörg's emergency rescue facilities.
