"It is a privilege to represent Moultrie and South Georgia on the House Appropriations Committee, and I am grateful to Speaker Burns for appointing me to serve alongside this distinguished group," said Rep. Cannon. "Crafting a responsible state budget is one of the most important duties we have as lawmakers, and I am committed to ensuring that Georgians' taxpayer dollars are put to good use. I look forward to working with this committee during the upcoming legislative session to make sure that the needs of our communities are reflected in the state's robust budget."

The main focus of the House Appropriations Committee is the writing of the state's amended and general fiscal year budgets for Georgia's state agencies and departments. The committee also hears legislation that has considerable impact on the state revenue or expenditures.
