FAU Earns Military Friendly® Status for 2026-27

Florida Atlantic University has been recognized as a Military Friendly® School, earning a gold designation among Tier 1 research institutions for 2026-27.

Florida Atlantic University has been recognized as a Military Friendly® School, earning a gold designation among Tier 1 research institutions for 2026-27. FAU has also been designated as a Military Spouse Friendly® School, as part of the latest rankings.

"Such distinction, paired with Florida Atlantic now ranked as a Top 100 Public University in U.S. News & World Report, serves to reaffirm to our military-connected students and families that they belong to a leading institution. Our MVSS team takes great pride in serving and supporting our growing military-connected student population through a focused emphasis on a durable sense of membership, well-being and career readiness. They are our mission."

FAU's MVSS team and center proudly serves, supports and advocates for more than 950 military-connected students and ROTC cadets on six campuses and through remote learning. The team administrates various military and veteran educational benefits and programs, while also providing holistic services, experiences and a student success center that are designed to enhance the academic success, camaraderie and career outcomes of military-connected students.

FAU is class-leading in student engagement through a robust liaison partner resource network, a career readiness and coaching program, tutoring resources, paid internship opportunities, entrepreneurship programs, a student veteran club and veteran alumni organization, as well as through special recognition events that continuously bring the community together.

Military Friendly® is the standard that measures an organization's commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunity for the military community.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2026-27 survey. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution's survey scores with the assessment of the institution's ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
