POMONA, CA (June 10, 2026) - City of Pomona and Fox Theater Pomona Announce Public-Private Cultural Investment Through 2028
POMONA, CA - The City of Pomona is announcing a unique multi-year public-private cultural investment with the Fox Theater Pomona. The City will invest $600,000 into the theater from now through Summer 2028. This investment includes the City's purchase of 30 individual nights for community-based programming while also providing $90,000 in promoter incentives to encourage additional performances year-round.
The 30 individual "Community Nights" at the Fox Theater will open the 2,000-person, 1931 art deco performance venue for individuals and organizations to hold community-based events. The City's investment covers the cost of facility rental, which enables up to five hours of use and prep and strike time per event, and includes the services of the theater's House Manager. Applications can be submitted for events centered around cultural arts and visual performing arts. Ticket prices for Community Nights will be capped at $25 per ticket.
"The Fox Theater remains committed to expanding our reach in musical and performing arts in all genres and for all audiences so we can continue to offer Pomona and visitors alike creative, engaging, and entertaining cultural experiences," said Jerry Tessier of the Fox Theater. "We are so grateful that the City is able to support the arts and the entertainment economy of the downtown Pomona Arts Colony," said Tessier.
The City's additional $90,000 investment in promoter incentives will enable the Fox Theater to offer marketing and production credits to increase its competitiveness to secure arts and entertainment talent. The theater routinely showcases large acts, such as Jack White in September, but faces increased competition from other performance venues in the region.
"The City's investment into the Fox Theater Pomona reflects the City's deep commitment to supporting arts and entertainment in our Downtown" said Anita Scott, City Manager. "We are excited to make this investment while also providing an opportunity for our local community to display their talents on the City's largest, most historic stage," Scott said.
The application for Community Nights is available on the Fox Theater's website at foxpomona.com.
