Samsung Launches Next-Gen Odyssey, ViewFinity and The Movingstyle Essential Monitors, Including Industry’s First 6K Gaming Monitor

Samsung today announced the global availability of its latest Odyssey gaming, OLED, ViewFinity and The Movingstyle Essential monitors, setting new benchmarks in resolution and performance across gaming and professional displays.

The 2026 lineup features two new Odyssey models, including the industry's first 6K gaming monitor alongside a 5K model. Samsung is also introducing even more OLED models with the Odyssey OLED G8 and Odyssey OLED G7 to bring OLED technology to a broader range of users.

The announcement comes amid continued leadership in the global gaming monitor market by Samsung, where, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC), it holds an 18.9% revenue share and earned the No. 1 position in the OLED gaming monitor market for a third consecutive year with a 26% share.

Samsung Odyssey: Setting a New Standard for High-Performance Gaming

The Odyssey lineup introduces two state-of-the-art models designed to deliver high-performance experiences across a range of gaming scenarios.

• 32" Odyssey G8 (G80HS model): Sets an industry milestone as the industry's first 6K gaming monitor, marking a significant leap beyond 4K gaming standards. 6K resolution presents exceptional visual clarity and detail, enhancing immersion while providing a larger screen for both gaming and multitasking. Featuring 224PPI and an IPS panel, the monitor ensures sharp detail and visual fidelity across every frame and it delivers ultra-high 6K resolution at up to 165Hz, while Dual Mode enables up to 330Hz at 3K resolution, allowing users to seamlessly balance crystal clear visuals with real-time responsiveness.

• 27" Odyssey G8 (G80HF model): Offers flexible performance options by supporting 5K resolution at up to 180Hz with 218PPI or up to 360Hz in QHD through Dual Mode on an IPS panel, making it suitable for both immersive and competitive gaming.

Across both Odyssey models, DisplayPort 2.1 delivers high-bandwidth performance for next-generation visuals. Plus, the monitors support AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technology to deliver smooth, tear-free gameplay. Additionally, the Odyssey lineup features HDR10+ GAMING[1], which dynamically optimizes brightness and contrast in real time without manual adjustment.
