President Trump Approves Arkansas’ Emergency in Response to Severe Winter Weather

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that President Donald J. Trump has approved Arkansas' request for an Emergency Declaration for Direct Federal Assistance to assist Arkansas with the state's response to severe winter weather that began January 23, 2026, and is ongoing.

"All of Arkansas is grateful to President Trump and Secretary Kristi Noem for their work to prepare our state for this weekend's severe winter weather," said Governor Sanders. "We have already deployed state resources around Arkansas and with this additional federal support, we'll have greater capacity to assist Arkansans in need."

Arkansas is specifically receiving:

  • Category A and Category B assistance, limited to Direct Federal Assistance, statewide
