JONESBORO - KASU 91.9 FM, the public media service of Arkansas State University, is holding its 2025 Fall Fund Drive beginning Monday, Sept. 8, through Friday, Sept. 19, on-air from 6 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
The drive continues KASU's efforts to offset recent funding challenges due to the elimination of federal support for public media.
The KASU Fall Fund Drive goal is $50,000. KASU recently held a one-day fund drive and raised more than $13,000, surpassing its $10,000 goal.
One may donate by calling 870-972-2200. Donations can be made online anytime at KASU.org/give or by downloading the KASU mobile app. KASU listeners become members by making financial contributions to the non-commercial educational station.
KASU celebrated its 68th anniversary earlier this year, having signed on the air May 17, 1957, making it the oldest public radio station in Arkansas.
According to Mark Smith, KASU station manager, "KASU and public media nationwide are facing some unique challenges. We will continue to serve our communities to the best of our ability, but listener and underwriter support is more important than ever before to keep KASU strong. KASU has the most loyal, devoted family of listeners and supporters. We plan to continue to grow that family as we work to meet the needs of new generations of public media consumers."
KASU has been an NPR member station since 1971. In addition to locally produced news and music programs, KASU pays to receive programming from NPR, American Public Media, and other sources.
Listeners may call 870-972-2200 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. More information, including ways to donate, can be found at kasu.org or its Facebook page.
