CBJ Seeks Proposals for Landscaping Services for Douglas Cemeteries

The City and Borough of Juneau Parks and Recreation Department is seeking nonprofit organizations, community groups, private businesses, and other interested parties to provide landscape and maintenance services for historic cemeteries on Douglas Island.

Several cemeteries near Lawson Creek, known collectively as the Douglas Cemetery, hold significant historic and cultural importance to the Douglas community. Most are currently overgrown with dense vegetation and have received little to no regular maintenance. Due to limited funding, CBJ is unable to provide these services directly and is looking for community partners to take on this meaningful stewardship role.
