Santa Ana City Council approves Grand Avenue Rehabilitation Project

The Santa Ana City Council approved a construction contract on March 3, 2026, to move forward with improvements to Grand Avenue from Edinger Avenue to McFadden Avenue.

The project will improve street conditions and pedestrian safety along this busy corridor.

The Grand Avenue Rehabilitation Project will:

  • Remove and replace damaged asphalt sections
  • Replace damaged curbs, gutters, sidewalks, driveways, and curb ramps
  • Add enhanced traffic striping and pavement markings

When finished, the project will provide a smoother ride for drivers, improve the look of the street, and ensure sidewalks and curb ramps meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Construction is expected to be completed in July 2026.

The City Council awarded the construction contract to R.J. Noble Company, the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $994,570. The firm has successfully completed previous projects in Santa Ana, including the Bristol Street Rehabilitation project from Santa Clara Avenue to Memory Lane.

The total estimated cost for the project, including construction, is $1.2 million.

This investment reflects Santa Ana's ongoing commitment to maintaining safe, reliable streets and improving infrastructure for residents, businesses, and visitors.
