ATLANTA - State Representative Arlene Beckles (D-Norcross), in partnership with Georgia Future Leaders (GFL), will host a "Back-to-SchoolSafety Class" event for South Gwinnett families Tomorrow, Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Hampton Inns & Suites in Snellville, Ga. The free community workshop is designed to help Gwinnett-area parents and students start the school year with the tools they need to stay safe at school and online.
"Every parent sends their child out the door in the morning hoping they come home safe, and every child deserves the confidence of knowing what to do if something feels wrong," said Rep. Beckles. "Georgia Future Leaders is doing exactly the kind of community-rooted work our families need right now. They're meeting parents where they are, in plain language and with practical tools that make a difference on day one of the school year. I'm proud to stand with them."
The workshop will cover practical, age-appropriate safety topics for the 2026-2027 school year, including bus and school-zone safety, stranger awareness and safe routes to school, backpack and identification best practices, social media and online-predator awareness and emergency preparedness.
Rep. Beckles encourages families across South Gwinnett and the surrounding communities to attend the event. Registration is free and open to the public. To register, please click here.
GFL was founded in 2026, and its mission is to empower Georgia's youth and families through mentorship, education, advocacy and community engagement. For more information, please visit the following link: https://www.georgiafutureleaders.org.
