Albertsons Library joins Operation Wish Book to spread literacy

Albertsons Library has launched its 2025 book drive in support of Operation Wish Book, a crucial literacy mission working to put new books into the hands of children across the Treasure Valley. The goal this year is to collect 800 new books. Albertsons Library is off to an amazing start, with over 130 donations so far.

Operation Wish Book, a non-profit founded over 30 years ago by retired Idaho teachers, aims to foster a love of reading in young people. Albertsons Library has been a dedicated supporter cause since 1994, contributing over 4,400 books to date.

A donation can make a lasting impact. Albertsons Library welcomes new, unwrapped, or very gently used paperback, hardback or board books for children and young adults (ages 0-18).

  • Drop-off location: First floor of Albertsons Library.
  • Donation period: Nov. 1 through Dec. 5.

Contact Pam Kindelberger at (208) 426-3827 or Kristi Schirrmacher at (208) 426-3622 with any questions or monetary donations.
