DGIMS visits Ukraine

The visit traditionally started with wreath-laying ceremony ​at the Memorial Wall to commemorate and pay respects to the fallen defenders of Ukraine. Later on, DGIMS was briefed by the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces on the operational updates on the ground.

"Everyday, Ukraine is fighting not only for its freedom but also for the freedom of the Western world. Ukrainians are protecting values of the West. I would like to appreciate the great warriors and great people of Ukraine," said Lieutenant General Baltrėnas in his statement.

​​DGIMS was subsequently briefed on the shifts ​in the battlefield, and in each military domain. ​ Lieutenant General Baltrėnas praised the professionalism of Ukrainian Armed Forces and expressed highest ​gratitude for their sacrifice and ​dedication. Finally, DGIMS reafirmed that NATO support to Ukraine will continue through all existing mechanisms.
