A few roads in downtown Knoxville will close temporarily to accommodate special events happening this weekend.
The 2026 Knoxville St. Patrick's Day Parade will march down Gay Street on Saturday, March 14, 2026, stepping off at 12:55 p.m. from the south end of Gay Street and proceeding north to disband at Magnolia Avenue.
The following roads will be closed 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
• Hill Avenue between Walnut Street and Hall of Fame Drive
• Main Street between Walnut & Gay streets
• Gay Street between Main Street and Hill Avenue
• Magnolia Avenue between N. Gay and N. Central Street
These portions of downtown roads will close at 12:15 p.m.:
• Market Street between Clinch & Union avenues
• Union Avenue between Walnut & Gay streets
• Gay Street between Main Street and W. Fifth Avenue
All road closure times are subject to change.
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, Barley's St. Patrick's Day 5K will temporarily close some roads in the Old City and neighborhoods along the Magnolia Avenue corridor. The run starts at 2 p.m. at Barley's and finishes on home plate inside Covenant Health Park.
