On October 7, 2026, Nicholas Grund, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Akebia Therapeutics, Inc. (the "Company"), notified the Company of his decision to resign his employment with the Company for personal reasons. His resignation will be effective November 6, 2026 (the "Resignation Date"). In connection with his resignation, on October 13, 2026, Mr. Grund and the Company entered into a Consulting Agreement, effective as of the Resignation Date, pursuant to which Mr. Grund will provide consulting and advisory services to the Company until April 30, 2027 (the "Consulting Period"), unless earlier terminated by the Company with at least 10 days' prior written notice or by Mr. Grund with at least 30 days' prior written notice. Pursuant to the Consulting Agreement, Mr. Grund will be paid an hourly rate for his services during the Consulting Period.
