Three District Judges Appointed to the Bench

The United States District Court for the District of Kansas announces that three judges authorized by Article III of the Constitution have been appointed and sworn in to the federal bench in Kansas. President Trump signed their commissions on June 18 and they were officially sworn into office on June 22.

  • Anthony J. Powell was confirmed by the Senate on June 10, 2026. Judge Powell succeeds Senior Judge Julie A. Robinson and is seated in Wichita, Kansas.
  • Anthony W. Mattivi was confirmed by the Senate on June 9, 2026. Judge Mattivi succeeds Senior Judge Daniel D. Crabtree and is seated in Topeka, Kansas.
  • Jeffrey M. Kuhlman was confirmed by the Senate on June 2, 2026. Judge Kuhlman succeeds Senior Judge Eric F. Melgren and is seated in Wichita, Kansas.
