'The Papillon Project: The Becoming'

Ballet Papillon proudly presents its premiere production of The Papillon Project: The Becoming, Tuesday, Aug. 11, 7 p.m., at Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.

The inspiration behind this performance delves into what it means to be human and how each life connects. It begins with a shared breath and then follows the countless moments that shape us thereafter.

Tickets are available online at onthestage.tickets. Ticket prices are $35 General Admission, $30 Senior/Military, and $25 Student. Tickets also will be sold at the door on the night of the event; tickets are $37 General Admission, $32 Senior/Military, and $27 Student.

Through movement, breath, and shared physical experience, choreography explores vulnerability, resilience, love, loss, and renewal. It proposes that humanity is not defined by perfection or certainty, but rather by our continual willingness to breathe into change, connect with others, and begin again, making each moment a quiet act of becoming. We live, we breathe, and we move forward together through the challenges and chaos of life.

The Grand is Lewisville's home for the arts. It presents a variety of regional and national touring performers, art exhibits, and classes, while also giving the many arts groups in the greater Lewisville area a facility to perform and display their works. Its multiple performance spaces play host to a variety of events, including live music, theater, dance performances, comedy shows, and more. The center features the 294-seat Huffines Performance Hall, black box theater, recital hall, art gallery, and courtyard.

To reach The Grand from Interstate 35E, take exit 452 and proceed east on Main Street to Charles Street. The Grand will be on the left. Free public parking is available along Main and Church streets, or at Lewisville City Hall across Church Street from the center. Please be aware that there is heavy road construction at the Main Street interchange with 35E that will cause delays.
