HAILEY - Construction to widen State Highway 75 between Elkhorn to Broadway Run is expected to pause Saturday due to winter weather. During the winter months, all four lanes, two lanes in each direction, up to Serenade Lane will be open to traffic.
Crews are finishing putting down temporary pavement to allow those lanes to be available. Work on the Bridge over Trail Creek will continue with more temporary paving so the north bound lane can be placed on the new structure.
The temporary pavement will be replaced next spring as crews return for the season and continue to widen the roadway.
The project was planned for completion in 2026 but has experienced delays due to inclement weather and utility relocations being delayed. Despite these challenges, the Idaho Transportation Department remains committed to completing the project as quickly as possible by expanding working hours.
"We appreciate the public's patience as we work through utility relocation, weather and other issues," Project Manager Tom Logan said. "Our goal is to make up for lost time and continue progress as soon as construction resumes next year, most likely in February on the bridge and April on the roadway, weather permitting."
Widening of SH-75 began in May to widen SH-75 to four lanes to reduce congestion and is anticipated to be completed in 2027. For up-to-date traffic impacts check 511.idaho.gov and for more information on the project go to the project website.
