Greenbelt Closure/ Suggested Detour Behind Expo Idaho

A half-mile stretch of the Boise River Greenbelt behind Expo Idaho closed on September 2, 2025, and will reopen in January 2026. The closure area is located east of Glenwood Street between the Boise Riverside RV Park and the Plantation Island Bridge.

SUGGESTED DETOUR DURING CLOSURE

Although the popular Marigold Street parking lot will remain open, the Greenbelt Pathway will be completely blocked to all traffic, including cyclists, walkers, and runners, approximately ¼ mile east of the parking lot. The closure is necessary due to construction at The Park at Expo Idaho. This section is being modified to be incorporated into The Park at Expo design. This closure will affect hundreds of people who use this section of Greenbelt every day. Thank you for your patience as we work to create a showcase regional park. Stay tuned for information on The Park at Expo Idaho's opening date, scheduled for late summer of 2026. This section of Greenbelt will be open to users in January.
