General Communication Corp. dba Alaska United Fiber System Partnership
Whittier, Valdez and Juneau to International Waters

Subject to AS 38.05.850 and 11 AAC 05.070(d)(2)(C), the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Southcentral Regional Land Office (SCRO) intends to reissue an expired authorization for the following public utility easement:

APPLICANT: Alaska United Fiber System Partnership, a subsidiary of GCI Communication Corp.

PROJECT NAME: ADL 227328.

GEGRAPHIC LOCATION: Prince William Sound, Gulf of Alaska and Chatham Strait to International Waters with shore landings in Whittier, Valdez and Juneau, Alaska.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: See Attachment A.

REQUESTED ACTION: The Grantee has requested reissuance of a previously installed and presently operational fiber optic cable that was first approved by DNR in 1998. The cable is entirely submerged where it lies on state land and was previously surveyed in three discontinuous segments with a reported overall length of approximately 1,874,400 feet or 355 miles. Nothing herein implies the establishment of an easement on land not managed by DNR-DMLW.
