Kirkland & Ellis announced today that Stephanie Haas has joined the Firm as a partner in the Corporate Practice Group. She is the first transactional partner to join Kirkland's Philadelphia office, which opened in early 2025.
"Stephanie is a talented M&A attorney and the perfect partner to help us launch our transactional practice in Philadelphia, building on the success of our litigation team there and reinforcing our commitment to establishing a full-service presence with top talent in the market," said Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland's Executive Committee.
Ms. Haas has extensive experience representing private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, restructurings and general corporate matters. She also advises on public company transactions, carve-out transactions, growth and structured equity investments, joint ventures and other transformative capital events. Her experience spans a broad range of industries, including technology, software, consumer brands and products, financial services, food products, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, aerospace and building products.
"We're so excited to welcome Stephanie to Kirkland," said Leo Greenberg, a Philadelphia native and Kirkland partner in the Corporate Practice Group. "I'm very much looking forward to partnering with Stephanie as we continue to expand and strengthen our transactional team in Philadelphia."
The Legal Intelligencer named Ms. Haas a "Lawyer on the Fast Track" in 2024, and Best Lawyers called her "One to Watch in Pennsylvania" in 2022. She joins Kirkland from Dechert LLP, where she was a partner.
"Kirkland offers the preeminent platform for complex transactions in private equity and beyond," said Ms. Haas. "I'm thrilled to join the team and to help build out the Philadelphia office as a top destination for M&A lawyers here."
