Nantoo leads the Circular Bioeconomy Supply Chain approved by Regione Lombardia

Nantoo, an innovative startup and Benefit Corporation incubated in Bio4Dreams, is the lead partner of the Circular Bioeconomy Supply Chain, officially approved by Regione Lombardia on April 13, 2026, through Decree No. 4718 of the Directorate-General for Economic Development.

The supply chain and its ecosystem

The Circular Bioeconomy Supply Chain was created with the aim of connecting stakeholders that are currently fragmented across the entire bioeconomy value chain: from biomass production and collection to processing, all the way to the development of bio-based materials and solutions. It brings together 34 partners, including companies, universities, research bodies, clusters, and territorial governance actors, building a collaborative infrastructure that integrates innovation, scientific excellence, and industrial capacity.

The project proposal submitted by Nantoo was assessed by the Evaluation Committee of Regione Lombardia and Unioncamere Lombardia, receiving a score of 72/100, above the minimum threshold of 65 points required under the call for expressions of interest for the development and consolidation of production chains and industrial ecosystems in Lombardy.

The kick-off on April 14

On April 14, the Supply Chain kick-off meeting took place, with broad participation and remarks by Dr. Carlo Bianchessi, Head of the Unit for Competitiveness and Sustainability of Enterprises, Ecosystems and Supply Chains at Regione Lombardia, confirming the institutional interest in the project. Approval now opens the operational phase, with Nantoo committed to facilitating connections among partners and enabling the first shared initiatives.

The clusters involved include SPRING - Italian Circular Bioeconomy Cluster (of which Bio4Dreams is a member), the Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster, and LGCA - Lombardy Green Chemistry Cluster.
