Berlin-Global law firm Dentons has advised fast-growing BESS developer MIRAI Power GmbH in connection with a large-scale investment by the Foresight Group.
Founded in Germany in 2024, MIRAI is a developer and operator of energy infrastructure projects, with a focus on battery storage. Since then, the company has built a project pipeline of approximately 12.5 GW. MIRAI primarily focuses on grid-connected large-scale storage facilities at the transmission level while also taking a selective approach to projects at the distribution grid level.
The Foresight Group is a leading investment manager for real assets and growth capital. The investment by Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners II SCSp supports MIRAI's strategic development as a platform for energy infrastructure. As part of the investment, the portfolio is to be specifically expanded and diversified, particularly in renewable energy and energy storage solutions, in order to further strengthen their market position in Germany and Europe.
A multi-office Dentons team led by Thomas Schubert provided MIRAI with comprehensive advice on all legal aspects of the transaction, including the legal structuring and negotiation of the transaction documentation.
