We are pleased to welcome Andrew Weber, MD, hematologist and oncologist and Callie Heilig, nurse practitioner, to Ascension Sacred Heart Bay Oncology. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Weber will begin seeing patients on Wednesday, October 1. Their office is located in the Tommy Cooley Building at 615 N. Bonita Avenue in Panama City on the hospital campus.

"Dr. Weber's arrival perfectly aligns with our mission to bring the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options to Bay County. We are truly changing the landscape of cancer care locally."
Dr. Weber most recently served as founding partner and president of a local oncology clinic, where he cared for patients and helped lead oncology services across the region. He also serves as an affiliate Assistant Clinical Professor at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, mentoring future physicians in hematology and oncology.
"My goal is for patients to feel confident they are getting the best possible treatment right here in Bay County by providing the highest standards of care," said Dr. Weber.
Board certified in Hematology, Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Weber earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University, where he served as the chief fellow.
Dr. Weber has published and presented on topics ranging from stem cell transplantation and lymphoma therapy to end-stage cancer care and barriers to patient understanding of prognosis. Dr. Weber has expertise in addressing all cancers as well as hematologic issues.
An active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology, Dr. Weber has also given back to the community as a volunteer with the Bay County Alzheimer's Association, a speaker for cancer support groups in Panama City and through hospice and survivorship education programs.
