City to host meeting on City Hall customer service area improvements, Nov. 19

(COLUMBIA, MO)- The City of Columbia is planning renovations to the first floor of City Hall to make visits simpler and more efficient for utility customers. The proposed remodel would bring all Utility Customer Service (UCS) functions together in one location, allowing residents to set up services, make payments and get assistance in a single stop.

The concept plan calls for updating approximately 2,350 square feet around the former Daniel Boone Tavern lobby. Improvements include opening up the lobby for better access, enhancing security, reconfiguring seven customer service counters and upgrading mechanical and electrical systems to support the new layout.

An interested parties meeting will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Daniel Boone Lobby at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. Community members are invited to learn more about the project and share feedback.

A public comment form will be available at the meeting and online at BeHeard.CoMo.gov/UCS-Treasury-remodel. A brief video highlighting the design concepts is also available for viewing on the BeHeardCoMo site.

Members of the public may attend any open meeting. For requests for accommodations related to disability, please call 573.874.CITY (2489) or email [email protected]. In order to assist staff in making the appropriate arrangements for your accommodation, please make your request as far in advance of the posted meeting date as possible.
