State Auditor Dave Boliek Appoints Jason Poole to North Carolina Lottery Commission

State Auditor Dave Boliek has appointed Robert "Jason" Poole, CPA, CGMA, to serve on the North Carolina State Lottery Commission.

Poole is a partner with TRP Sumner, PLLC, and brings more than two decades of accounting, financial reporting, management consulting, auditing, and tax experience to the commission. He is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant who has worked extensively with businesses and organizations across North Carolina.

"Jason Poole is a respected financial professional with a strong record of leadership and service to North Carolina," said State Auditor Boliek. "His expertise in accounting, governance, and fiscal oversight will be a solid asset to the North Carolina State Lottery Commission."

A native of Fayetteville, Poole earned both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accounting from East Carolina University. He has served in numerous leadership roles throughout his career, including as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, board member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), chairman of the East Carolina University Board of Trustees, chair of the NCACPA Advocacy Advisory Council, and president of the NCACPA Foundation.

The North Carolina State Lottery Commission is a nine-member commission that oversees gaming operations in North Carolina, including developing rules, licensing entities, monitoring compliance, and enforcing regulatory and statutory requirements. In accordance with North Carolina Session Law 2026-41 § 5.10.(j), the State Auditor appoints one of the nine members.
