Thompson Announces More than $260,000 for Bucktail Medical Center

RENOVO, Pa. - U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson today announced $262,470 in federal funding for Bucktail Medical Center to modernize its infrastructure through radiology upgrades and new patient beds.

The funding will be used to improve equipment in the radiology room, both the wiring and the patient table, ensuring patients have state-of-the-art technology at Bucktail Medical Center. Ten patient beds will be replaced with new, modernized beds and mattresses.

Bucktail Medical Center is a Critical Access Hospital serving surrounding rural communities in Clinton, Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, and Potter counties.

"I was pleased to secure this funding for Bucktail to enhance the delivery of health care services to the community," Rep. Thompson said. "I spent nearly 30 years working in rural health care before coming to Congress. I understand the benefit of increasing both patient safety and experience. I'm grateful for Bucktail and the care they provide to the surrounding communities."

"Our team at Bucktail Medical Center is very grateful that we have been chosen to receive this funding," said Bucktail Medical Center CEO Laura Murnyack. "We will be able to improve the patient experience at our facility by making some key upgrades to our radiology equipment and inpatient rooms. Support of our rural healthcare facilities is vital to our rural communities to help ensure essential services and access to care are maintained."

Rep. Thompson secured the funding through Community Project Funding for Fiscal Year 2026, which was approved in the appropriations package the House passed to reopen the government this fall.
