IBX celebrated among Greater Philadelphia’s most community-minded organizations

Insurer earns sixth consecutive Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia recognition

Independence Blue Cross (IBX) once again earned a place on the Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia list recognizing the region's most community-minded organizations. This recognition marks IBX's sixth consecutive year as an honoree.

Presented by the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia and conducted in partnership with the Philadelphia Foundation, Points of Light, and other local partners, the Civic 50 honors employers making a meaningful difference through volunteerism, charitable giving, community partnerships, and other efforts that strengthen the places where people live and work.

IBX is one of 50 companies in Philadelphia to be recognized in 2026 for incorporating four pillars into their community engagement programs:

• Investment of resources
• Integration across business functions
• Institutionalization through policies and system
• Impact measurement

In its submission, IBX highlighted:

• Associate volunteering, such as board service, volunteer time off, volunteer recognition, and skills-based volunteering. This includes IBX's support of Compass Pro Bono to connect local nonprofits with IBX business professionals who can offer guidance and expertise on complex business challenges.
• Giving and philanthropy, including strategic planning, impact measurement, gift matching, and the IBX Dollars for Doers program, which provides incentives for associates to designate to eligible charities important to them based on volunteer hours.
