Department Retired From:
Professor, MBA Department
How long did you work at FSU?
37 years
What 3 words can you use to describe FSU?
Intimate, fun and challenging
List any professional or personal accomplishments we can celebrate with you.
What do you do for fun or keeps you busy in retirement?
I retired from a W-2 form in 2009 but from nothing else, so I have never thought of myself as retired. I perform cowboy and western music and yodel across the U.S. I love to travel. I still research and write articles for academic journals. I still review for three academic journals on the teaching and learning of management. And I consult with 501.c.3 nonprofit organizations.
What was your favorite thing about working at Frostburg State University?
Engaging with my students in mutual learning and seeing their learning progress.
Do you stay connected to other retirees and/or current faculty and staff?
Yes. I frequently play golf with three of my former colleagues in the Management Department. Dr. Greg Latta, one of my closest friends, and I have collaborated on my 2 CD's and will do so on my third. I continue to engage socially with several current FSU faculty and staff on a regular basis. And I use the FSU library for research on a regular basis.
What advice would you give to current students?
Pursue your passions. Question everything and ask good questions. Never stop inquiring and learning.
