Registration Now Open for New National Security Technology Transfer Forum

(Washington, D.C. - Sept. 30, 2026) The Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC) has officially opened registration today for Innovation for Impact: A National Security Technology Transfer Forum. Registration will remain open through the final day of the event, on Dec. 3, 2026.

Innovation for Impact is a one-of-a-kind national forum dedicated to advancing national security technologies to mission impact through collaboration between federal agencies and industry, including small businesses, startups, and non-traditionals. The event brings together federal laboratory leaders, legal experts, and technology transfer professionals with investors, entrepreneurs, and industry partners to nurture the practices and partnerships that keep American innovation at the forefront.

"The FLC is proud to bring federal technology transfer professionals across the national security community together at Innovation for Impact-to connect, collaborate, and accelerate the work that keeps the nation ahead" says FLC Executive Director Paige George. "Having come from a national security technology transfer role, I know how much this community needs a place to share what works and move promising technologies toward the mission. Innovation for Impact is that platform for hundreds of people shaping the national security innovation ecosystem, and for the mission-ready technologies they help deliver."

The three-day event is designed to explore practical strategies, exchange best practices, and strengthen collaboration across the federal technology transfer community. Programming includes 20 educational sessions or panels on topics ranging from patent secrecy to modernizing the Department of War, as well as several keynotes, fireside chats, and networking opportunities.

The educational sessions on Dec. 1 and 2 are exclusively for federal employees and contractors, creating a confidential space to focus on skills-building and peer-to-peer collaboration in a high-security sector. Sessions will be offered in two learning tracks addressing the legal, operational, and strategic dimensions of national security technology transfer: Legal Frameworks for Technology Transfer and ORTA Implementation and Operations. Continuing Legal Education credits will be available for eligible sessions.

Industry partners will join the forum on day two for the networking reception, beginning conversations that carry into Industry Engagement Day on Dec. 3. Industry Engagement Day features a panel on working with federal laboratories, a keynote on the future of national security innovation, and one-on-one networking with participating agencies and labs.

"Attendees at the Innovation for Impact forum will gain practical strategies for immediate use, direct access to federal leaders and subject matter experts, new pathways to industry partnerships, and so much more," says FLC Development Director Courtney Bronson.
