CARTERVILLE - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that traffic on Illinois 13 over Crab Orchard Lake in Carterville will shift to the next stage of construction beginning Friday, July 24, weather permitting.
Beginning July 24, westbound traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed lanes while eastbound traffic will remain in its current configuration. Beginning Thursday, July 30, all traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed lanes. Two lanes of traffic will remain open in each direction in a head-to-head configuration separated by a concrete barrier.
As part of the traffic change, Haven Road will be closed to all public access from Illinois 13. Cambria Road is expected to reopen as a right-in/right-out intersection by Oct. 1.
