Las Vegas Councilwomen Francis Allen-Palenske And Nancy Brune Sworn In To Serve Second Term

Ceremonies Held At Las Vegas City Council Meeting

Las Vegas Ward 4 Councilwoman Francis Allen-Palenske and Ward 6 Councilwoman Nancy Brune were sworn in for their second terms in office at the start of the July 1, 2026, City Council meeting.

Mayor Shelley Berkley swore in both councilwomen at the meeting. Both councilwomen have served the city for four years and now will serve an additional four-year term.

Councilwoman Allen-Palenske ran unopposed and Councilwoman Brune won her primary election with more than 50 percent of the vote.

Both councilwomen work closely together as their wards are adjacent to each other and they both represent the fast-growing northwest portion of the city.

This November's general election will include the race for the Ward 2 council seat, along with the races for Municipal Court judge in departments 1 and 2.

In addition to the swearing-in ceremonies, the City Council also voted to select Ward 3 Councilwoman Olivia Diaz as the city's mayor pro tem.
