City Clerk’s Office Seeks Election Inspectors for 2026 Election Cycle

October 17, 2025 - The Midland City Clerk's Office is seeking civic-minded individuals who want to serve their community next year by working as an election inspector during the upcoming Election Cycle.

Inspectors greet voters at their precinct on Election Day, walk voters through the process of the application to vote, verify voters' identities, and distribute ballots. There are now many more opportunities to help with the Election process, especially before Election Day itself, including the Absentee Voter Counting Board.

  • Be a registered voter in the State of Michigan (if 18 years old or older);
  • Not be a candidate, a member of a candidate's immediate family, or a challenger;
  • Be able to sustain long periods of sitting and standing throughout the day;
  • Deal with the public in a courteous, patient, and efficient manner;

All election inspectors will be required to attend training classes dates TBD. Election Inspectors receive $15 per hour as well as breakfast and dinner on Election Day. Election inspectors are not required to be residents of the City of Midland to apply.
