Long Beach, CA - This spring, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) will offer over 700 classes, activities, sports and leagues for people of all ages and abilities. Registration for new and existing spring recreation classes begins Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, available online, by phone and in person.
Below are select highlights of classes available to community members this spring. Classes begin in March and extend through May.
Preschool - Classes give children as young as six months old, to those about to start school opportunities to learn new skills in a nurturing social setting.

Parent and Me Soccer - join in your toddler's introduction to soccer while they build their motor and socialization skills through fun, age-appropriate activities (ages 2 to 3 years, 6 months).

Preschool Gymnastics - learn the basics of floor work such as bridge, cartwheels, frog stands and more in this fun, fast-paced class (ages 4 to 7 years).

Little Music Makers - develop an understanding of the components of music through songs, drum circles and inventive musical activities (ages 3 to 5 years).
Youth - Classes that keep your youngster engaged while enhancing their abilities in music, dancing, math, reading and a variety of fitness and sport offerings.

K-Pop Musical Theater Camp - learn K-Pop choreography inspired by Huntrix's bold style and Saja Boys' stage presence, create your own characters, and build confidence through singing, dancing and performance (ages 7 to 14 years).

Comedy, Confidence and Improv - explore imagination and character-building through hilarious improv games and sketch comedy that encourages teamwork, bold choices and tons of laughter (ages 7 to 14 years).

Biddy Tee Ball - kids will learn the basics of the game in a fun, safe environment, fine tune motor skills and make new friends (ages 5 years and younger).
Teens - Classes that support the enrichment and wellbeing of teens from music, art and fitness to life skills, dog training and more.

Aquatics - learn and improve fundamental aquatic skills, build increased comfortability in the water and refine techniques in all swim strokes (ages 13 to 17 years).

Babysitter, First-Aid, CPR & AED Training - learn safe, fun skills to become the favorite babysitter every family wants (ages 12 years and up).

Teen Ukulele - learn to play ukulele, build skills and confidence and learn fun songs in this beginner group course. No instrument needed, ukuleles provided (ages 12 to 16 years).
Adults - Classes for a wide range of adult ages, from arts and culture to fitness, sports and music, that encourage lifelong education, movement and healthy living.

Tennis Red Ball - for players picking up a racquet for the first time, class will introduce the game using low-compression balls in an easy to learn environment (ages 16 years and up).

Wedding Dance Survival - prepare to look your best on the dance floor, from nightclub to ballroom basics (ages 18 years and up).

Mindfulness Tai Chi & Qigong - cultivate wellness and vitality while building your knowledge of these healing martial arts in a physically adaptive and emotionally safe instruction (ages 18 years and up).
Older Adults - Classes to support healthy bodies and cognitive minds while creating fun and engaging social connections.

Ballroom Dance: Waltz & Friends - guided by a cognitive mobility expert, move to feel-good music while improving balance, coordination, memory and mood with gentle, patterned steps (ages 50 years and up).

Spanish for Seniors - learn practical conversation skills for travel, daily life and social interaction at a comfortable pace (ages 40 years and up).

Chair Based Yoga - this class incorporates the use of a chair for various poses and movements as well as meditation, breathing and relaxation techniques (ages 50 years and up).
Beginning Feb. 2, community members can register for classes by visiting LBParks.org and clicking on Online Registration under the LB RecConnect side menu button, by calling 562.570.3111 or by visiting the Registration Reservations Office (2760 Studebaker Rd.), Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Beginning the week of Jan. 26, the latest issue of Recreation Connection, PRM's recreation catalog, will be available online at LBParks.org and hard copies available at Long Beach parks community centers and Long Beach Public Library locations.
