FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. - Beginning May 4, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will close Snodgrass Hill Road for construction within Chickamauga Battlefield. The project will provide routine road-paving maintenance to improve visitor safety and enhance the overall visitor experience. The park anticipates completing the project by mid-June 2026.

This project will affect the official Chickamauga Battlefield tour route by closing access to Tour Stop 8. A temporary stop will be designated for visitors. After Tour Stop 7, please follow the updated tour signage.

Please slow down when approaching construction equipment or workers to ensure everyone's safety. For status of this and other closures, check the website at https://www.nps.gov/chch/planyourvisit/conditions.htm
