Port Clinton High School Educators Rising Excel at State Conference

Port Clinton High School students involved in Educators Rising proudly represented Port Clinton at the annual state conference in Columbus, Ohio on March 3-4, 2026. Students competed in various categories during the event.

Winning categories and students placing at the event included: Maxon Fluckinger, JV Creative Lecture, 1st place; Chapter Display - 2nd place, Lily Mincer was the display architect and artist; Nora Pixler, Kaylee Tripp, and Will Osborne, SEL Professional Development, 3rd place; Lily Mincer and Alisha Allen, Ethical Dilemma, Top 10.

Joe Miller, PCHS Educators Rising Advisor stated, "I'm so proud of our future teachers. In just our second year attending the conference, we doubled our number of students competing, and we had multiple students finish in the top 10, including three categories where Port Clinton students placed in the top 3."

PCHS students attending the conference included: Nora Pixler, President and State Office; Kaylee Tripp, Vice President; Lily Mincer, Secretary; Alisha Allen; Bristol Bazar; Tessa Cantu; Olivia Farris; Maxon Fluckinger; Lilly Hatt; Brooke-Lynn Lattimore; Jacqueline Libben; William Osborone; Elise Rosario; Ella Schwable; and Gabrielle Sims.

Miller added, "Our Educators Rising program aims to help students understand and appreciate the teaching profession. The state conference is a big part of what we do, but our future teachers also get to work with mentor teachers in our district, present at conferences, participate in book studies, and organize unique ways to celebrate educators and the profession."
