WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) announced he has secured more than $27.5 million in federal funding for 11 community-driven projects across Pennsylvania's First Congressional District-bringing critical federal investment directly to local priorities through the Community Project Funding process for the 119th Congress, included in the House-passed Fiscal Year 2026 bipartisan spending package.
These investments were developed in close partnership with local governments, first responders, nonprofit leaders, and community stakeholders-and are targeted to meet real, on-the-ground needs, from public safety and emergency response to infrastructure resilience, housing stability, and environmental protection.
With this latest round of funding, Congressman Fitzpatrick has now secured over $80 million in federal funding for community-driven projects across PA-1 since FY2022, reflecting a sustained commitment to translating locally identified priorities into federal support.
"Every project included here began with a conversation in the community," said Fitzpatrick. "Over the past year, I've sat down with local leaders, first responders, advocates, and service organizations to understand where the needs are greatest and where federal investment can make the strongest difference. Working alongside those partners, I fought to ensure these priorities were reflected in the House-passed bipartisan spending package. From public safety and emergency response, to flood protection, housing stability, and modern infrastructure, these investments address real needs and will have lasting impact. As this funding moves forward, I look forward to continuing to work alongside our local partners to bring these projects to life and ensure they deliver meaningful, positive results for the people who depend on them."

Designed to support both volunteer and career firefighters, the facility will include on-site living accommodations and house a Bucks County Rescue Squad substation-ensuring faster deployment, enhanced readiness, and modern infrastructure that safeguards residents and first responders while positioning Bristol Borough to meet public safety needs now and for generations to come.
Bristol Township (Haines Bridge)
Amount of Received: $5,000,000
Purpose of Project: This project will construct a new bridge and roadway connection linking Haines Road across the railway corridor to North Radcliffe Street, restoring a critical transportation link in Bristol Township. The need for this bridge became clear after the prolonged closure of the Randall Avenue Bridge, which disrupted traffic patterns, strained local roads, and limited reliable access for residents and emergency responders-particularly in the Edgley community.
The new crossing will provide a safer, more dependable route for passenger vehicles, emergency services, and commercial traffic, reducing congestion and improving access to Route 13. By addressing vulnerabilities exposed by the Randall Avenue closure, this project will strengthen emergency response, support local businesses, and build a more resilient transportation network for the township.
Bristol Township (United Way HELP Center)
Amount of Received: $1,250,000
Purpose of Project: This project will establish a permanent, purpose-built home for United Way of Bucks County's HELP Center in Levittown-securing and expanding one of the county's most critical points of support for families and individuals in crisis. A permanent facility will significantly increase capacity, improve coordination among service providers, and ensure reliable access to essentials, emergency assistance, workforce support, and health and housing stability services as demand continues to grow.
By creating a centralized regional hub, this project deepens the partnership among local nonprofits, municipalities, and community advocates working on the front lines to support vulnerable residents. The Center will support programs that bring together community members, law enforcement, educators, and local organizations to strengthen understanding, build trust, and promote resilience.
Through expanded community space, modern infrastructure, and improved access and parking, this project will ensure Boone Farm serves as a fully accessible hub for learning, cultural celebration, and public safety collaboration. The initiative will expand the Co-Responder Program to pair law enforcement with clinically informed support, enhance crime prevention and investigations through advanced license plate reader technology, and modernize prosecutorial operations with a comprehensive digital case management and evidence system. Together, these investments will improve emergency response, reduce crime, and deliver more effective, coordinated public safety services for residents countywide.
Doylestown Township Streetscape Improvements
Amount of Received: $1,000,000
Purpose of Project: This project will expand access to Doylestown Township's Community Recreation Center by constructing a new parking facility essential to supporting its growing role as a regional hub for youth programs, family activities, and senior services across Central Bucks. Strategically located near major roadways and regional trail networks, the project will improve safe, reliable access for families, cyclists, and visitors while reducing congestion in surrounding neighborhoods. By removing a key barrier to participation, this investment ensures the Recreation Center can continue to serve the community at full capacity and remain an inclusive, accessible destination for years to come.
Lower Makefield Township Storm Water Management Construction
Amount of Received: $5,211,000
Purpose of Project: This project represents a critical investment in flood protection and public safety for Lower Makefield Township. It will strengthen stormwater management and flood mitigation through the construction of new stormwater basins, targeted infrastructure upgrades, and restoration of streambanks and floodplains along a heavily altered tributary near the Delaware River. Together, these improvements will significantly reduce flood risk, protect homes and roadways, and safeguard residents from increasingly severe storm events.
The urgency of this project was made tragically clear by the 2023 Upper and Lower Makefield floods, which claimed lives and devastated families in the Maplevale community. This investment is designed to prevent a repeat of that loss-protecting vulnerable neighborhoods, restoring natural flood controls, and building long-term resilience for the entire township. At its core, this project is about protecting lives, preserving homes, and ensuring the community is better prepared for the future.
Middletown Township Public Works Complex Construction
Amount of Received: $2,000,000
Purpose of Project: This project will replace Middletown Township's outdated 1960s-era Public Works Complex with a modern, energy-efficient facility critical to maintaining essential services and emergency readiness. The new complex will provide the space, infrastructure, and coordination needed to support road maintenance, stormwater management, park upkeep, and other core municipal operations that residents rely on every day.
Designed to meet current and future demands, the upgraded facility will improve equipment storage, specialized operations, and staff collaboration, while also supporting daytime fire and emergency services operations. By modernizing this backbone of township operations, the project will strengthen Middletown's ability to maintain infrastructure, respond quickly in emergencies, and keep the community safe and resilient for decades to come.
Hatfield Borough
Amount of Received: $1,000,000
Purpose of Project: This project will replace aging stormwater and sanitary sewer infrastructure beneath heavily traveled roadways in Hatfield Borough, addressing long-standing safety risks and system failures that threaten public health and transportation reliability. Deteriorated stormwater pipes and structures have posed known safety concerns for years, while damaged sanitary sewer lines have allowed stormwater infiltration that overloads downstream systems during severe weather.
By modernizing these critical underground systems, the project will reduce flooding risk, prevent sewer overflows, protect roadways, and ensure reliable wastewater and stormwater management for the community. This investment strengthens core infrastructure, safeguards residents, and helps ensure Hatfield Borough's essential systems function safely and effectively for years to come.
